Memorial to Beverly Barton - Our Friend and Mentor

We mourn the passing of one of our most precious friends - Beverly Barton. She was a wonderful woman who always had a ready smile and a generous heart. Beverly will be missed by each of us. Her quick wit, her lovely voice, her innate kindness and most of all her brilliance is silenced to the world but not in our hearts.

Please leave us with a comment about Beverly. Your thoughts, memories and stories of this great woman mean a lot to us here under the magnolia tree. Beverly Barton was one of the most extraordinary authors of our time and one of the best people God has graced upon this Earth. We love you Beverly!

  1. Thanks for a beautiful memorial, Cheryl. I'm still in a state of disbelief. I just remember seeing her and chatting about ordinary, daily life two weeks ago. She was always gracious and kind to me. I didn't know her as well as some of the other HOD members, but she always made me feel welcome. I grieve with you and pray for her close, dear friends and family during this time.

The world has lost a wonderful person. But we will always have her in our hearts.

    God Bless.

  2. Beverly was president of HOD when I became a member. She was the one who approved my PRO status. And she never failed to give me a hug and called me by name. Although she was always smiling, always full of life, there was no quicker way to light up her face than to ask to see pictures of her new granddaughter.

Beverly, there is a whole world out there who grieves for you, and we will miss you terribly. It's hard to say good-bye to such a special friend and mentor, but it's somehow comforting to know so many people share our loss.

Keeping everyone in my prayers this day.

  3. Beverly was gracious, kind, and clever. My memories are of her always with a laugh. A true southern belle.

Her influence is far and wide and she touched lives personally, professionally and through her writing. It will never be the same without her. Beverly will be sorely missed.

  4. Beverly called me her "Baby Diva" and "Diva-In-Training." I can only aspire and try to be half-the lady she was.
