Tales From Cancun Continued...

Buenos Dias, mio compadres!  (I think I'm turning Espanole.  I think I'm turning Espanole.  I really think so!)

Last week, I mentioned that hubby and I had arrived to Cancun for our 30th Wedding Anniversary.  We were met by a driver who transported us to our new shangrila and provided me with a beautiful pink Lily (see on the table in picture).

Did I forget to mention that the LeBlanc resort was all-inclusive?  Aye-chi-wa-wa!  The food was delicious!  Rotisserie.  Flambe.  Assorted fruits and desserts galore.  Freshly squeezed orange juice.  Hot tea, whenever I wanted it.  A refrigerator filled with soda pop and various candy.  A bar loaded with Whisky, Tequila, and Rum.  (Why is the Rum always gone?  It's at LeBlanc.  Pirate!)

As luck would have it, we were there for 8 days!!!  Yes, there were plenty of days for fun in the sun!  And when hubby got slightly sick (well, more than slightly) there was a light at the end of the tunnel. It came just in time for our Anniversary which we celebrated on the beach with a romantic dinner.

Surf and Turf, dear ones!  Champagne.  Our own serenade by an excellent clarinet player, who played The Carpenters Close to You.

Ah, so beautiful and unexpected.  Imagine it.  The peaceful surf cutting against the sand.  The melody of a love song wafting upon the ocean breeze.  Can you feel the love?  Can you imagine you are there?   Can you see how the infinity pool appears to go on forever?

LeBlanc Resort in Cancun is a great place for lovers to celebrate their lives together, whether that be weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and so forth.  It is also a couples only resort, quiet, reflective and filled with interesting people.  (Yes, I did some people watching while I was there.  Writer!)

And now I ask you.  If you were at LeBlanc with your loved one, which song would you want to be serenaded with?

  1. Song? I don't know. Deacon Blue? Wanted Dead or Alive? Some Hall and Oates?

I guess I'm not very romantic. I don't think I'm cut out for a resort. Was there any shopping?

    1. I think you'd need more than a clarinet player for those songs. ;)

We shopped within the resort. We'd both agreed that we weren't doing touristy things this time. All we wanted to do was lounge around the infinity pool. And that's what we did. ;)

      Good times!

    1. Stephanie, the best part of the infinity pool is standing at the edge and watching the ocean. Very tranquil.

  3. Beautiful place! And two some handsome people! What a good photograph! I am so glad you got to enjoy the anniversary. You'll have wonderful memories. The LTC is a genius for setting this up! Lucky Girl!

My song would by "The Wedding Song" by Paul Stookey (Peter, Paul and Mary). It was played at our wedding and never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Maybe you can watch it on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1v84WKC6Pg Wonderful performance.

    1. Sorry don't know how to make it a link. Just copy it and paste. It's worth the trouble. :D

    2. Oh, Cheryl! Thanks for the compliments. I'll be sure to tell LTC!

What an excellent choice of wedding songs. I also love the Hawaiian Wedding Song and A Time For Us. Stirring lyrics that speak of everlasting love.

  4. Oh! What a beautiful, romantic trip! I'm in awe that LTC set that up for you to have the time together! Wowey! Zowey!

And a song? I ALWAYS have a song! My all-time first choice would be Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful", but I would want the words sang. The second verse (that's often cut out when performed) is absolutely the most romantic verse ever written. My opinion.

    1. Now that's a beautiful song, Lesia. Have you ever heard Bryan Adams sing If You've Ever Loved a Woman? Or I Would Die For You? Oh, my heart melts and I get goosebumps all over just thinking about those songs. ;)
