Please join us as we welcome our friend and Heart of Dixie chapter-mate, Kira Sinclair. She is going to visit with us and chat about her February release!

Out of Disaster

Have you ever had a nightmare turn into a wonderful dream? I'm not talking about a literal nightmare, but the kind of gut twisting situation that left you reeling. Maybe it was an embarrassing situation that happened in high school. Or a relationship that fell apart. Or a job you lost. Something that left you feeling disappointed, upset and probably emotionally drained.

For Lena Fuller that moment comes when she faces her fiance at the altar and learns he cheated on her...with her cousin. In a few seconds the perfect life she envisioned for herself, and always thought she wanted, crumbles around her. Betrayal, anger, and pain accompany the chaos of discovery and all she wants is peace. A chance to escape and figure out what happens next.

The honeymoon at Escape, an exclusive adults-only Caribbean resort, sounds like the perfect haven. Especially when her best friend Colt Douglas - a globetrotting filmmaker she hasn't seen in awhile- agrees to go with her. Between moon drenched nights, romantic dinners and getting lost in the jungle together overnight, it doesn't take long for Lena to realize there's more to what she feels for Colt. And that she never would have been happy with her ex-fiance.

Out of the disappointment of losing what she thought she wanted, Lena finds something better.

Has that ever happen to you?

Kira

Kira Sinclair's first foray into writing romance was for a high school English assignment; not even being forced to read the Scotland set historical aloud to the class could dampen her enthusiasm, although it definitely made her blush. She sold her first book to Harlequin Blaze in 2007 and hasn't looked back. Her newest release, Bring it On, the first book in her Island Nights trilogy, hits shelves in February. It will be followed by Take It Down, in March and Rub It In in April. She loves to hear from readers! You can contact her at kira@kirasinclair.com or visit her website www.KiraSinclair.com

  1. Glad you could join us under the Tulip tree, Kira!

Congrats on your new release! ;)

I think things happen for a reason. I try to remind myself that God knows what's best for me. ;)

  2. Thanks for sharing your new book with us Kira. It sounds wonderful! I can't wait to read it and the rest of the trilogy.

Yeah, I had a few disappointments but I soon found, like your heroine did, that the world always opens up a new door, a better destination!

  3. Hi Kira! I can't wait to read the new trilogy...it sounds awesome!

I've found myself in so many embarrassing situations in life that I've had to learn to laugh at myself and move on. Otherwise, I'd run far, far away and hide in a hole where no one could find me. So, my motto? Laugh, giggle and make light of life. Oh, and I roll my eyes at myself a lot, too. Silly me!

  4. Thanks for inviting me! I love visiting here. Y'all always have the best backgrounds. Those roses are so much better than the rain outside. :-(

Me too, Kathy. But sometimes it's hard to remember in the thick of things.

New doors and better destinations are always a good thing, Cheryl! :-)

I love the idea of humor developing out of embarassing situations, Lesia! I wish I'd been that forward thinking when I was younger.

And don't forget I'll be giving away a signed copy of one of my backlist to a commenter today. So all you lurkers...come out and play! :-)

    1. In the hard times, I remind myself how good the Lord has been to me and my family. As in Hebrews, I'll recite to the words about faith to myself, listing the many miracles and joys in my life. This has always been a great way to remember that there is always someone, somewhere worse off than I am, and that I am never alone in whatever I face. ;)

  6. When I was unable to get full time work in Canada, I got to work full time in the US and England. I figured if I couldn't work at home, I'd work places where I wanted to travel.

    1. Chey, DH and I considered moving to England at one point. Part of me would love to do it now...but having 2 kids kinda complicates things. We probably should have done it when we first talked about it. But that's definitely a great way to find a silver lining in a tough situation!

    1. Thanks, Kim! Blaze has the most amazing cover guy. Thinking positive is something I'm trying to teach my girls. Bad things happen to everyone...the only thing you can control is your response.
