You are a good person for taking the dog.Cherylnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018633413564074437.post-77735675187915991982012-01-19T12:27:42.359-06:002012-01-19T12:27:42.359-06:00I'm not a bird fan, and my kids never wanted o...I'm not a bird fan, and my kids never wanted one so I was happy. :-) At one point I had a sister-in-law (now former) who always had birds. My kids reaction was usually "Can't we shut that thing up?" I did end up raising a dog that was supposed to belong to the middle son, but thank goodness no birds for me. -- LJlinda winstead joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12760279711122202398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018633413564074437.post-79031732995469819422012-01-18T17:58:59.542-06:002012-01-18T17:58:59.542-06:00You know, Maven Linda, "The Birds" was b...You know, Maven Linda, "The Birds" was based on an actual event that took place near Monterey, California. Seems the gulls got poisoned by fish which had been contaminated with sewage. The gulls actually attacked people. So not liking birds because of the movie is very valid.

I, too, love raptors, especially Golden Eagles and more especially the one named "Tiger."Cherylnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018633413564074437.post-73666747040151211462012-01-18T15:45:06.709-06:002012-01-18T15:45:06.709-06:00I am not a bird person. Maybe it's a subconscious reaction to having watched Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" when I was a kid. On the other hand, I do greatly admire raptors :-).Maven Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01191207825985417403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018633413564074437.post-90635110576024884992012-01-18T15:21:58.946-06:002012-01-18T15:21:58.946-06:00Kc sounds like a good gift. You must have a good friend Kathy!

Oh, lord Stephanie! I don't think your father would last around my place or rather the pets wouldn't. I am constantly vacuuming, dusting and cleaning because of the pets. I still can't keep up! Cockatiels are great pets, even if a bit loud, but only if there aren't others in the house (like cats - see Jean's post LOL).

Okay Jean, you win. The poor bird. If that were to happen to Buddy, I have visions of the cartoon called "The last act of defiance." Buddy would definitely make someone pay.Cherylnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018633413564074437.post-21633511756265950642012-01-18T14:23:03.834-06:002012-01-18T14:23:03.834-06:00I once had a bird. (I was not required to do any dish washing at that point. That would come later. My sister is ten years older than I am.) Anyway, daddy had fixed Petey's cage door so he could open it and she didn't lock back. He got out. A cat ate him. Then one day my daddy, who dosen't approve of pets in the house, found a blue feather in his hamburger casserole. The next day we had to find new homes for the birds.Stephanie Jones AKA Alicia Hunter Pacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03023631488715031414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018633413564074437.post-58233427783302486442012-01-18T12:01:14.111-06:002012-01-18T12:01:14.111-06:00Cool bird!
